About My Journey

I was born in Hong Kong.    I am 1/2 Portuguese, 1/4 Chinese and 1/4 Scottish.

When I was about 7 years old my mother purchased my first miniature dollhouse.    I remember seeing the dollhouse in a shop’s display window on the way home from school.    My mother and I went inside to have a closer look.    I was mesmerized by the small dollhouse with its’ little rooms, windows and doors.    Not to mention there were wooden furniture inside!    Unfortunately, when my mother died, I had to leave my dollhouse behind when we came to America.

As a young adult I was still fascinated by the world of miniatures.    In 1983 I built my first dollhouse.    Eventually that dollhouse was given to my long time friend as a gift.    It wasn’t until 2002 I was re-introduced to the miniature world.    My two daughters along with my sister and I went away on a weekend retreat where we built two Greenleaf house additions.    Once home the additions sat on a shelf until 2006.    My youngest daughter decided she wanted to paint the addition she worked on with her aunty.    My oldest daughter decided she wasn’t interested in keeping the addition.    She wanted me to have it since we built it together.

Since then I have once again enjoyed my miniature world thanks to my two daughters!
